Naturopathy:
Working with the body as a whole and utilising many different skills, diagnostics and therapies to maximise health outcomes. Knowing how to effectively support the body in specific ways to stimulate and effect healing is what naturopathy is truly about. Using a variety of assessment techniques and treatment methods, I aim to re-balance the body so it has the best chance of being its healthiest self. Health is not a one-size-fits-all, so I do not take this approach in either assessment or management.
Nutrition:
Assessment of your diet will enable me to help you find out if adjustments to your diet are just what you need, plus I can provide therapies to give you a little kick start if needed. Nutrition is one of the most important aspects of managing your health. Using a food diary prior to an appointment can often give both myself and you a deep insight into where changes may be necessary. What appears to be healthy on face value may not be the best choice for you specifically.
Herbal medicine:
This is the medicine within plants – and can be very powerful. It may be provided in liquid or capsule form, depending on what you require. Many current medications were originally based on herbal medicines, but the difference between “modern” medications and herbals is quite different now. Herbal medicines use whole extracts, rather than just a single component. It is the synergy of all the natural components of the herb that make it so powerful when used appropriately, rather than isolated extracts.
Lifestyle:
One of the most important aspects of any treatment plan is to address lifestyle. The choices you make and the changes you are prepared to make is perhaps the most powerful tool to regaining your health. I can guide and support you with this – but it is you that does the work. Is it worth it? Absolutely.
