Gut health and pain

Gut health is associated with chronic pain.  And it is not just gut pain.

In July a study was released by the Pain Management Unit at McGill University Health Centre in Canada proving a correlation between chronic pain and an imbalance of bacteria in the gut.  Evidence has shown that those with fibromyalgia had reduced levels of beneficial bacteria or too much “bad” bacteria in their guts.  This was shown to impact sleep, cognition, mental health and chronic pain levels.

There is also strong evidence that the gut microbiome, and what you are feeding it (good and bad), may also be linked with arthritic pain, gastrointestinal disturbances and associated pain, back pain, headaches and nerve pain.  Research is also indicating that gut health may be linked to other conditions (and severity) such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, diabetes, depression, anxiety, PCOS and Endometriosis.

Sorting out your balance of gut bugs and looking after them may be the best thing you can do for your health.

I can help you with this.
